- The World’s Best News was found at 110 locations across the country on September 13
- 126,000 juice boxes was be distributed by 80 coordinators and thousands of volunteers
- Over 90 ngos constituted the support base, and more than 90 companies supportes the message
On the second Friday in September, World’s Best News will have its annual morning event. Early morning from 7:00 am to 9:00 am more than 1,000 volunteers will be distributing 120,000 bags with a small gift and thousands of World’s Best News newspapers. Perhaps you’ve already met us on the streets of Denmark the past years?
The purpose of the annual event is to inform about good news from the developing countries and to show that the fight against poverty is bearing fruit. We will be carrying on with the agenda on 12 September 2014 — and you are invited to join.
Last year 2.000 volunteers got up early a Friday morning in September to surprise commuters all over Denmark on their way to work and school. They surprised them with free juice and a newspaper filled with good news from the developing countries. Among the volunteers handing out the World’s Best News was Danish Members of Parliament Johanne Schmidt Nielsen (EL), Manu Sareen (R), and Kristian Jensen (V).
